Government To Announce New Law Preventing Abusers From Cross Examining Victims in Family Courts

Criminal courts currently have legislation to prevent this from happening, but no such legal protections are offered in the courts. A sharp rise in litigants in person thanks to aggressive austerity measures, is partly responsible for an alarming new trend which features alleged abusers and proven offenders questioning their victims in court. The experience often re-traumatizes vulnerable victims and can lead to severe mental health problems, with some victims even taking their own lives.
To date the only way a victim of abuse in The Family Court can prevent an abuser from cross examining them is by asking the judge to put Practice Direction 12J into effect, which invites the judge to step…

Sick and twisted to the extreme; hard to digest, but a reality. 9th JUNE 2017 A TEENAGE paedophile who committed the worst type of offences against children has been warned he may receive a life sentence. Alan Gray, 19, was sent to be sentenced at the High Court in  Edinburgh  after a Greenock-based sheriff said that he could not impose a sentence appropriate to the level of offending. The pervert pleaded guilty at Greenock Sheriff Court last month to offences in which he fantasised about kidnapping, raping and murdering babies. Gray, of Caithness Road, Greenock, also accessed almost 20,000 images of young children and infants being abused.
